A newly launched biotechnology company has made a strong entry into the healthcare sector with one of the largest biotech funding rounds announced this year. The funding round was co-led by Jeito Capital and Sofinnova Partners. Other investors participating in the financing included Arkin Bio, Sanofi Ventures, Sixty Degree Capital, Vives Partners, and Apollo Health Ventures. The strong backing from both existing and new investors highlights confidence in the company’s scientific approach and development plans.

Building New Treatments for Immune-Mediated Diseases

Bionyra Pharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing next-generation biologic therapies for immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. These conditions occur when the immune system triggers excessive inflammation, often leading to chronic health problems that can affect a patient’s quality of life.

The company is developing antibody-based therapies designed to address diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and atopic dermatitis. Bionyra’s research efforts focus on creating innovative biologic medicines that may help improve treatment options for patients living with these challenging conditions.

Experienced Leadership and Global Presence

Bionyra Pharma was seed-financed and co-founded by Sofinnova Partners and Dr. Frédéric Marrache, who serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

The company operates from Paris, France, and Boston, Massachusetts, two major centers for biotechnology research and innovation. By establishing a presence in both locations, Bionyra aims to combine scientific expertise, clinical development capabilities, and access to global healthcare networks.

Dr. Marrache and his team are leading the company’s efforts to advance a clinical-stage pipeline that targets important unmet medical needs in immunology.

Funding to Support Clinical Development

The newly raised capital will help Bionyra accelerate the development of its clinical-stage programs and expand its research activities. The company plans to use the financing to advance its portfolio of biologic therapies as it works toward future clinical and regulatory milestones.

The funding also provides Bionyra with the resources needed to strengthen its operations and continue developing treatments aimed at addressing immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.

A Significant Milestone

The successful completion of the $165 million Series A financing marks an important milestone for Bionyra Pharma. The launch positions the company among a growing group of biotechnology firms working to develop innovative therapies for patients with chronic inflammatory conditions.

With substantial financial support, experienced leadership, and a focus on immunology, Bionyra now moves forward with plans to advance its clinical-stage pipeline and bring new treatment options closer to patients in need.
