Ractigen Therapeutics has raised more than $31 million in a new financing round, marking another important step for the clinical-stage biotechnology company as it works to develop RNA-based medicines. The fresh funding will help Ractigen advance its lead clinical programs and strengthen its proprietary RNA delivery technologies. The investment also highlights continued support from both existing and new investors for the company’s small activating RNA (saRNA) platform.

The financing comes at a time when RNA-based therapies are gaining attention for their potential to treat diseases that have limited treatment options. With this new capital, Ractigen plans to accelerate the development of its clinical pipeline and expand its technology capabilities.

Guozhong Capital Leads the Financing Round

The financing round was led by Guozhong Capital. It also attracted participation from several existing and new investors, including IDG Capital, China Everbright Limited, Jolmo Capital, Win-Win Capital, and SND Venture Capital.

According to the company, the investment will be used to advance its clinical-stage saRNA pipeline and further develop its proprietary extrahepatic RNA delivery platforms, which are designed to improve the delivery of RNA therapies to tissues outside the liver.

Focus on RNA-Based Medicine Development

Ractigen Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing medicines using small activating RNA (saRNA) technology. Unlike some RNA therapies that reduce gene activity, saRNA is designed to increase the expression of specific genes that may help treat disease.

The company is developing therapies that aim to address serious diseases through targeted gene activation. Its research combines saRNA technology with proprietary delivery systems to improve the effectiveness of RNA-based treatments.

Funding to Advance Clinical Programs

A major focus of the new financing will be the continued development of RAG-01, the company’s lead clinical candidate. RAG-01 is being developed for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) whose disease has not responded to Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) therapy.

The additional capital is expected to support the ongoing clinical development of this program while also helping Ractigen strengthen the technologies needed to deliver RNA medicines more effectively.

The company said the funding will allow it to move its research and development efforts forward while expanding the capabilities of its proprietary delivery platform.

CEO Highlights Company’s Next Stage

Dr. Long-Cheng Li, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ractigen Therapeutics, said the successful financing reflects investor confidence in the company’s technology and long-term vision. He noted that the new investment will help accelerate both the clinical development of the company’s saRNA pipeline and the advancement of its delivery platforms.

The company believes the financing provides a strong foundation for the next stage of growth as it continues to develop innovative RNA-based therapies for patients with significant unmet medical needs.

Strengthening Future Growth

The latest financing gives Ractigen Therapeutics additional resources to expand its clinical development efforts while continuing to improve its proprietary RNA delivery technologies. By focusing on both innovative drug candidates and advanced delivery platforms, the company aims to strengthen its position in the growing field of RNA therapeutics.

As clinical research continues, the new funding is expected to support Ractigen’s progress toward bringing its saRNA-based treatments closer to patients and advancing the company’s long-term development goals.
