Getting medical help in another country can be stressful. Many travelers struggle to find a trusted doctor, understand the local healthcare system, or communicate in a different language when they fall ill. Milan-based healthtech company Doctorsa wants to remove those barriers. The company has now secured fresh funding to expand its digital healthcare platform and help more travelers access medical care wherever they are.

Doctorsa secures €1 million in funding

Doctorsa has raised €1 million in funding in a round led by PranaVentures, with participation from Vento and 40Jemz Ventures. The company will use the investment to expand internationally, strengthen its technology, and grow its partnerships across the travel and healthcare sectors.

Founded in Milan, Italy, by Nadia Neytcheva and Francesco Maria Serino, Doctorsa has operated under its current brand since 2023. The company focuses on helping international travelers quickly connect with licensed doctors through a digital platform.

Making healthcare more accessible for travelers

Doctorsa provides a simple way for travelers to receive medical care when they are away from home. Instead of searching for nearby clinics or hospitals in an unfamiliar country, users can request a consultation through the platform and connect with a licensed doctor in just a few minutes.

The company says its network includes more than 550 doctors across 40 countries. Patients can access video consultations, receive medical advice, and obtain prescriptions when medically appropriate and legally permitted. Doctorsa states that users are typically matched with a doctor in about five minutes, and consultations are available in English starting from €20. The platform does not require users to purchase a subscription before requesting care.

Over the past three years, Doctorsa says it has helped more than 250,000 travelers through its 24/7 telemedicine service, making it easier for people to receive healthcare while abroad.

Funding will support international growth

The new investment will help Doctorsa expand its presence in existing markets while entering new ones. The company plans to increase its focus on the United States, where American travelers currently represent around 40% of its patients.

Doctorsa also plans to grow its business-to-business services by working with travel companies, insurance providers, employers, and other organizations that want to offer healthcare support to customers or employees traveling internationally.

Investing in Agentic Booking technology

As part of its growth strategy, Doctorsa is developing its proprietary Agentic Booking infrastructure, built on open-standard interfaces. The technology is designed to work with AI assistants, allowing travelers to request and book medical consultations through digital assistants while keeping full control over the booking process.

The company believes this approach can make healthcare easier to access by reducing the time people spend searching for trusted medical providers in unfamiliar locations.

Leadership highlights the company’s vision

Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Nadia Neytcheva said the company wants access to trusted healthcare to become a natural part of the travel experience rather than something travelers worry about during emergencies. She added that the new funding will help Doctorsa expand its global reach, strengthen strategic partnerships, and continue improving its technology platform.

The investors also expressed confidence in the company’s future. They noted that international travel continues to grow, while demand for telemedicine and digital healthcare services is increasing. They believe Doctorsa has built a scalable platform that addresses a real need for travelers around the world.

Looking ahead

With fresh funding and a growing international network of doctors, Doctorsa is preparing for its next phase of growth. The company plans to expand into more markets, strengthen partnerships with businesses in the travel ecosystem, and continue improving its digital healthcare platform. As more people travel internationally, Doctorsa aims to make accessing trusted medical care faster, simpler, and more reliable wherever their journeys take them.
