TISSIUM has secured €60 million in equity and debt financing, giving the French medical technology company fresh resources to expand its commercial operations and move more of its tissue repair products toward the market. The financing follows important regulatory progress for the company and is expected to strengthen both its commercial and clinical development activities.
Financing combines equity investment and EIB support
The €60 million package includes €30 million in Series D2 equity financing and up to €30 million in financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB) under the InvestEU programme.
TISSIUM completed its Series D2 financing round at the end of 2025 with participation from both new and existing international investors, including investors from the United States. The company did not disclose the identities of the investors involved in the round.
The EIB financing will be made available in three separate tranches of €10 million each. Access to each tranche depends on TISSIUM meeting specific commercial, clinical, and financing milestones. The company expects to draw the first tranche before the end of June 2026.
Funding to support commercial expansion
TISSIUM plans to use the new capital to strengthen its commercial activities, support ongoing clinical programmes, expand its product pipeline, and continue developing its proprietary biomorphic programmable polymer platform.
The financing comes shortly after the company achieved an important regulatory milestone with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granting marketing authorization for COAPTIUM® CONNECT, TISSIUM’s first commercial product. The device is designed for atraumatic, sutureless peripheral nerve repair and is now commercially available in the United States.
Alongside the commercial rollout of COAPTIUM CONNECT, the company continues to develop products for additional surgical applications, including hernia repair and cardiovascular procedures.
CEO outlines the company’s next phase
Christophe Bancel, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of TISSIUM, said the financing represents an important step in the company’s transition from a development-stage business to a commercial-stage medical technology company.
He said the funding will support the launch of COAPTIUM CONNECT while allowing the company to continue investing in products based on its biomorphic programmable polymer platform. According to Bancel, the financing reflects confidence in both the company’s technology and its long-term growth strategy.
Building on its tissue reconstruction platform
TISSIUM develops biomorphic programmable polymers that are designed to help reconstruct damaged tissue in surgical procedures. The platform is intended to provide an alternative to conventional methods in selected applications and supports the company’s development programmes across multiple therapeutic areas.
The company believes its technology can simplify certain surgical procedures while promoting effective tissue repair. It continues to advance research and clinical development as it works to expand the platform into additional medical applications.
Looking ahead
The latest financing strengthens TISSIUM’s financial position as it enters its next stage of growth. With new funding, commercial momentum following its first FDA-authorized product, and continued support from the European Investment Bank, the company is focused on expanding market access, advancing clinical programmes, and bringing additional tissue repair solutions to patients in the years ahead.
